Collaborations

Sara and Cape Cod Art Therapy collaborate with local organizations as a means to:

  • Provide art therapy services to a range of individuals across Cape Cod
  • Educate the public about the benefits of Art Therapy
  • Promote art-based programming and creative expression
  • Promote the connection of mind-body practices

Below is a list of local agencies, as well as a brief description of the services provided:

Cape Cod Community College, Art Department:  Cape Cod Art Therapy was a guest lecturer in the art department at CCCC.  The focus was on bringing the therapeutic and self-expressive elements of the creative process into the art studio.

PAAM (Provincetown Art Association Museum): Youth Education Program.  Facilitated a 5 week workshop series focused on introducing the therapeutic components of art, in the Youth Employment Program.

Cape Abilities: CCAT provided a weekly Art therapy group for adults with developmental disabilities. The focus of the group was self expression and empowerment through use of the creative modalities.

Cape and Islands Veterans’ Outreach Center: From their website: “Our mission is to provide to Cape Cod veterans of all eras and their families a comprehensive menu of the essential, life altering, and life-sustaining services which will empower them to achieve a lasting reintegration into the families and communities for which they have sacrificed.” CCAT partnered with this agency to provide art therapy services to veterans’ and their families.

Delicious Living Nutrition: Delicious Living Nutrition is a private practice offering nutrition counseling and wellness program throughout Cape Cod and the Islands.  CCAT collaborates on workshops and individual sessions under the framework of promoting a holistic approach to wellness and health. At the core of the collaboration are the ideas of process over product, and the fostering of intuition, creativity, and mindfulness.

Creative Outlets at the Cape Cod Museum of Art:  Creative Outlets is a series of creative workshops geared towards teens in need of extra support. Assisting teens in identifying interests and developing passions is an important component in reducing the risk for substance abuse disorders. Think prevention! Dot-to-Dot Art Workshop – Dot-to-Dot Art Workshop is a community based art workshop that works to provide art education and creative expression workshops to all ages.  It is beautiful studio space that promotes a safe, fun, dynamic, and supportive environment of creativity.  Cape Cod Art Therapy has collaborated with Dot-to-Dot in providing the ‘I am a Warrior’ series: a workshop series that integrates yoga and art therapy for pre-teen aged females.  Stay tuned for upcoming collaborations. Orleans Yoga:  “Classical principles with a contemporary approach to provide a purposeful and sustainable mind-body practice for all phases of life.” Sara teaches weekly group classes, individual instruction, and workshops at Orleans Yoga.  Sara’s primary focus in her teaching, is the integration of emotional well-being with the practice off yoga.
